SHANAEL OPEN DAY AND SALE
On 31st May, Shanael Holsteins will open their doors and welcome visitors from all over the UK and Europe. There will be a number of Holstein Breed presentations through the morning and early afternoon, but the highlight of the day will be the sale of 50 elite Shanael animals at 2.30pm. Eurogenes would like to invite breeders to a short tour of some great UK herds at the end of May.
The main event is the Shanael Holsteins Golden Celebration Sale and RABDF Gold Cup Open Day.
The Miller family, based in the Midlands, were awarded the prestigious Gold Cup in 2012. The family team of Mike and Shan, sons Paul and Steve plus daughters Amy and Katie were runners up in the same competition last year and winning the award is recognition of the hard work and skill they have put into developing the farm and the herd to its current level of 320 cows averaging 12,199kgs at 3.6% fat and 3.08% protein on three times a day milking. Calving Interval stands at 410 days and average Cell Count is 176,000 cells/ml, and while these parameters are vital to be included in the competition, judges also take into consideration all aspects of farm management.

Shanael Bolton Golden VG-88-2yr is one of the stars of the herd. With huge production and sons in AI, this powerful high indexing cow is still one of the highest LPI Bolton daughters in the World!
